Ready for the day

   Open eyes to darkened sky.
See pavement is wet. Oh how refreshing
to know earth got food during
the midnight hours.

   Empty self of yawns. Stretching
long and tight. Enjoying the limbs
loosened from slumber.

   Colors hanging. Chosen are
two specific ones. A uniform of sorts.

   A cascading hot waterfall.
Soothing all lasting aches. Alerting
senses of jasmine, honeysuckle and
almonds. Bubbles gather and
disappear.

  Facing self through a haze. Looking
back at another me. Refreshed from
steam. Curly cinnamon frames a flushed,
freckled face. Bright blues stare at the
happiness radiating.

  Preparing day with a thankful prayer
to Jehovah and a cup of chai rooibos tea.
Warm spicy vanilla awakens.

   Out the door I dash. Ready for
all that greets. I hope I see you today.
I smile with all the grand possibilities.
