A dark dessert for evening
Get up and ease into a shell of a white, cottony
cloud. Sit and relax. Reading, writing and sipping
a glass of vintage port. One mellow taste after another.
Cravings of chocolate and strawberries erupt
inside. Dance around until in kitchen prepping for
my succulent dessert.
One step at a time. Watching. Waiting for chocolate
to melt, for the right texture to coat ripe strawberries.
Hold onto IPod as I listen to a song and sing out
loud. Blushing. So thankful no one can hear me for I
am certain it would be a laughable sight to behold.
As I notice that dark chocolate has gone smooth
I bend, twirl to get the lush strawberries out of
refrigerator. Placing them on counter, I allow my
song to end. Washing and prepping fruit for a good
dipping.
A light giggle escapes my throat. Ah anticipating
the mixed textures coating tongue and alarming
taste buds. All the sweetness tingling senses.
Now I slip redness into a dark, deep pot of warm
chocolate. Being extremely careful not to waste nor
get more on fingers than fruit.
Placing well dunked strawberry on wax papered
cookie sheet. Then off to complete task fifteen more
times.
Hmm should I wait for cooling or dive in?
I think I am going to "sample" one to make sure
there is the right amount of chocolate on it then
place all in freezer to set.
Mmm. Yummy. Yes right texture. Laughing as
I see my mouth. Deep, rich dark chocolate coating
rosy lips and corners of mouth.
Well enjoyed, indeed.
In freezer they go for four minutes. A countdown
begins. Then straight to tummy. Hmm.
Would you care to taste one as well?
