Little steps I took to change
Little steps to take. Clearly
much is weighing on mind. Hold
back but also hold tight. So
much to say to you yet no words
drift from vocals.
Lips shiver for the need to speak
but all that is released is a sigh.
Calmly breathing. Steady I stand
when soul, heart screams to run away.
Gain distance so soft cries cannot
be heard.
Once I wanted and set out to destroy
all just to have one more time. Now
I cringe in having memories like these.
Ones that compete with the happy,
carefree moments.
I blink back tears and sniffle to
hold off the sobbing. Still they
come as hard as raging waters.
Oh the hopes of hugs. The
dreams of conversations. The loss
of family, friends. The knowing of
one day I get to be a complete member
of a worldwide family.
I must thank you for the
seed you planted and the hopes,
dreams you sought to bring out.
Grateful that Jehovah saw even more.
