All a memory
Still a dream reminds
the pictures of yesterday. Photos
drifting in wind.
One, just one, more look.
A distant gleam in eye. Yes
a moment, I remember, when
my heart controlled.
Oh how lost, torn I was.
Thought was empty, void of
all emotion. So long ago,
still triggers a tearful
whisper.
All stays inside. A
blank sheet covers, hides
all film. A fog that
is thick.
A last goodbye echoes
in the muggy air. Moments
when stepping forward
chokes.
I remember. One glance.
One passing smile. A light
laughter at how simple I was
to the complexity of who I
thought I loved. So wrong.
So deadly was the match.
So similar but all a lie
to keep heart believing.
All a memory.
