I graciously thank
I cry in joy, in pain, in sorrow.
My eyes weep into the softness of downy
pillows. They silence the sobs.
A face of red splotchy patches.
I awake and reality hits. All that
ached in my dreams are just there.
My reality I am happy as much as
I can be.
Still the smallest gesture of
kindness, of beauty makes my spirit
shine. So I ask what will be
brought today?
One step in front of the other.
Slight pressure upon feet. Lightly I
walk, thanking Jehovah for guiding
me, holding me.
I smile looking up. Graciously
remembering all that has been given.
Now I face the sky, close my eyes
and breathe deeply. Feeling the
wind on cheeks, lifting cinnamon strands
and softening the harshness of the
world.
Ready to begin anew.
