My choices
Thoughts that caress my
mind. Memories that crave attention.
Faces I remember. Names I recall.
All blown into the wind.
Distance I carry to press back.
Slowly enters the emotions. To not
persue all that the heart beckons me
to do. Careful how all can become
very twisted if I listen.
Standing still in a storm, battle. Clearly
head takes control. Conscience is open,
alert. Lightly I step. Closing eyes to
inhale the colors.
Then I am able to be forgiving
of the imperfections of so many.
Of even my flaws given and born.
I smile of the painted pictures
we created, we lived. Not once would I
ask to change for those are the choices
I took to become who I am today.
My life lessons. I am grateful and
understanding of them. Else I would
have never been able to say I found my
family once more.
How much more can I show gratitude?
