Questions of place and memory

One day at a time. I open my
eyes to something new. Anytime I breathe
I recall one memory, one moment.

I may be bold and hold tightly onto
it or I may be shy and let it slip through
my fingers.

All is well if ends well, right? Oh no,
no. This statement forgets the gray
areas between the beginning and the
conclusion.

My question to you is: where are
you in my life? The bitter beginning
to the enduring gray matter to the happy
conclusion/ new beginning?

Where did you expect to be in
my life? Was there an appointed time
only for you, in your mind? Please do
show me your place because I may be
mistakenly placing you.

Hmm every day I learn, achieve
and absorb. Perhaps it is at a different
rate of growth than yours, who but
Jehovah knows.

So here I sit in red fleece
sprinkled with black and white hearts.
Bundled tight and warm. Hoping,
waiting for a response.

       The memories, moments experienced
teach a lifetime. I would not ask to go back
nor erase just to satisfy one because I am
who I am for these great adventures and
misfortunes.

These grand tips over the waterfall,
plunging to shallow pool. All the way to
the stumbling over pebbles. Still I learn
and absorb as Jehovah wants me to.
