A stained memory

Now such a wonderful day started. Enjoying every
minute in a peaceful silence. No smoke to irritate. No
questions to contemplate. Just peace.

Ah how I hope this day of work goes smoothly for I only
have this dy and next before a much needed mini
vacation.

A time for my mother and I to reconnect to her past.
This will be a grand adventure indeed.

Still viewing a time over years gone. Glancing among
photos taken. How so few are of me. As to say did
I really exist. Only asking for a few seconds then
flipping to pictures of children. Yes I did, slightly.

Remembering over all the places I have travelled. Just
a stepping stone that leads to where I am now. I
chuckle a little bit over the speed bumps in the road.
Learning a lifetime of lessons before forty is really
something.

Ah how memories are triggered and I smile. Many
a thoughts remain on a single image. Shaking self
open to a moment where glitzy trim is clouding focus.
I share one memory with you.

A city. Me walking. Looking in every shop along a
waterfront. Not asking. Not really talking. Just
enjoying. This is a place I am going to make a new
memory. Push, one already stained, back so a new
one can be etched.

Do you agree this is a memory worth holding? Shall I
hold tight or allow it to fade? What do you think,
dear friend?

Yes memories are stained in my mind. Whether or
not to wallow in them is another thing. Still I do recall
plenty. Enjoy the reminders but know none that
were included are actually the same as then. So
much change, time has transpired. Still as I stated a
kind reminder to self.

So here I sit prepping for work. A little bit of a late
bloomer today. Not really wanting to work but I must.
So pushing self up. Pressing forward, I begin.
