A memory in sweets
Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate. I
chuckle inside. How silly I am over chocolate. The
jokes that spin stories in my family. What a hoot!
"Mary can always find the sweets but right on the
dot when comes to chocolate."
Haha. Still I love chocolate but if intermingled
with peanut butter, now that is the best creation
thought of. Amazing. Protein and sweetness. Now
that is a combination.
I do recall times when my grandparents would
hide the sugary things just to see if I could find them.
Such jokes. All cracked up because I did find exact
location and in rapid timing.
Ah how such grand memories bring on more. To
realize I was not the only sweet tooth in the family.
My grandfather loved Oreo cookies, frozen. Imagine
a tall man about 5'9" prepping to eat his Oreos. 12 or
13 lined up his arm. From middle finger to elbow
they sat, as one by one they disappeared down his
throat.
I used to get so tickled watching him eat them.
Sometimes I would try to sneak one off his arm. The
roar of the bark made me giggle even more and
then he give me only one. Oh how my smile gets
bigger.
Big sigh is released. Funny how memories trigger
other ones. Such comedy on this trip down memory
lane. Thankfully so happy. Always a grand trip when
it comes to remembering silly little ole me from
back then. So sweet, so gentle. Innocent.
I loved my grandfather. Compare every man to
him. Spoiled by how a man should act. The respect.
Look forward to seeing his face, having him wrap me
tightly in his arms for that warming hug in the
new system.
