The soothing dance
Seated in my golden, tapestry chair just
back from eating and enjoying company with strangers.
Interesting to observe how people change their
manners around just because of company. The
quiet ones just sit and listen. Watching as their
outgoing, boisterous companions chat up a storm.
Ah comforted by silence here. So peaceful.
So happy and grateful for the laughs. So much
redness overcame this pale, freckled face this
evening.
Still now ever joyful being here at home.
All that echoes inside the room is air swirling. Dancing
are the copper strands free from their constraints
of a top knot.
Oh how I point and flex my toes. Recalling
the ballet lessons I took as a child. Only two years.
So strict. So sad that I was not passionate about
dance. Ah but I did have a grand spark for art. The
colors how the danced across canvas. Oh so much now
for poetry. How smoothe the words caress the air,
parchement. Such a lovely melody of intricate dancing
involved.
Hmm still I do dance. Silly little twirls inside
my apartment and outside when I think no one is
paying attention. Listening to either my music or
the unique drummer beating joy and giggles inside
me. Jehovah.
Ah now my spirit soars and I start to
giggle. The urge to just get up and spin round and
round is overwhelming. Still I stay stationary.
My legs propped up high, relaxing before
a good night of sleep. Ah now a small glass of port
to bring the night to a close. To allow smoothness
to melt me into slumber. The liquid warmth, spicey
echoing throughout my soul.
Hmm one last sip from an apéritif glass and
off I go. Skipping and twirling down hallway. Until
soon I land, dizzy, upon my bed. Giggling and joyful
of soon tomorrow will be here.
So I say good night, dear friend. That is
if I may call you such. Enjoy your laughter. All enticed
by a silly song and quirky dance. Where a smile
echoed throughout your soul, down deep into your
spirit.
Yes, indeed, it is a good night, friend.
For in an early morning light I will request of you
to still be creative.
So laugh, smile, sing and now dance for
tomorrow is a creative kind of day.
