One dance
Gently I enter apartment holding onto
the joyous melody of Taylor Swift. Girlhood dreams
sung high and off key as I twirl around the room.
Smiling wide and so giddy. The perky, peppy Mary
shining through.
Hmm silly. Here I am a grown woman
recalling the joys of romantic plays. The joys of
first love in romeo and juliet (minus the tragedy).
Ah the trickle of laughter that echoes down
my soul. A hearty smile displayed across my face.
Blushing over the moment of sincere happiness.
Laugh with me as I twirl round and round
until the girlish giggles cease. Will you?
So far I have requested my friends to laugh,
to smile, to sing and now I ask of you to dance.
For you to grab hold, tight, to someone
you love dearly and give them a whirl. So when the
question arises as to the surprise, the simple answer
is that of overwhelming love and joy falling from
twinkling eyes deep into your spirit.
Do you think you can do that for me?
If not for me, then how about for yourself or those
who love you?
For I will remember my loved ones as
I twirl myself. Ah the laughter, the love and the joy
of happiness seen in their eyes. Showing, recalling
the excitment of their presence. Ah yes. Softly I
thank Jehovah of the kind reminder of their love.
Oh how the memories of those moments
are joyful and sad. Yet I do shine bright for I know
there will be a time, one day I will be able to dance
once more with them. A small smile creases my lips
in hoping for that day.
So please dance a waltz. Dance a jig. Dance
alone or dance with friends. Make sure you dance
in happiness, in love. Be hopeful of the quirkiness of
yourself and enjoy one dance - for me.
