A waking smile
A haze that covers my eyes. The sleep pulling from
the soul. Loudly the alarm blares. Crowded were the
dreams. Full of natural storms that roared throughout.
A calming effect.
Nicely placed are the limbs. Curled into a fetal
position only to now stretch. The clouds pull me to
draw the blinds up, to look over the skies.
Cold water slaps my face and alert the eyes do
become. Now I stand focusing on the image in the
mirror. Softness of coppery fuzz sticking out around
face yet contained nicely inside a braided rope.
A small smile creases over the freckle face.
Happy that Jehovah gave me this day to breathe once
more, to awaken from sleep.
Alas I recalled a moment yesterday when ladybugs
crawled across my windshield. Ah once more the
smile opens wide. Thank you Jehovah for a
touching moment of the smallest piece of beauty
that I so dearly love.
Also to be reminded of such a wonder. Now
mandarin vanilla pulls at all senses. Revitalizing
the mind and soothing the soul. The thoughts that
rumble through my mind echo only for a little while.
Now clearing the mind of anything weighing me.
My prayer with Jehovah in a rainfall. Simple peace
and softly a calm overcomes.
The errands of the day before work are rushed by
I am going at regular pace. No need for an
overpowering the beat of my heart. Natural rhythms
are soft with a smalll skip. Ah the unique beat I have
makes me ever more cautious.
A trickle of giggles escape over the simplest
memory of water tickling toes. Splashing feet. Ah.
Why now recall that on a chilly morn? Yet once again
the smiles are displayed from spirit to lips, sparkling
bright blue.
Hmm. Today I ask dear friend that you smile over
the simplest things. Quirky ones. Just smile.
