A taste of pool side rain
I sat down with towel underneath me. Stretching my legs out to watch as the rain pelted the pool water. Sure I was reading but so preoccupied by the beauty of the rain falling in the right patterns across the water.
So much of soothing that I needed be anywhere but there. Soon the pour was harder and the pellets were harder. The drops began to sound like glass breaking. Yet all I could do was sigh.
Perhaps the thought of company finding me. The single moment of watching the of possibilities. Yet the mind wasn't concentrated on that. Just the sound of the water being abused by the raindrops. The parts of life that just find ways to make you sleepy.
And yet I didn't fall asleep. I stared out into the water. Enjoying the views.
There were moments when the rain stopped and the sunlight came out from behind the clouds. And I felt like dancing but my soul remained still. Seated upon plastic lawn lounger and towel. The book I was reading just trying to help me focus and yet my mind was far away.
To just look at me you could see I was not really there but in a formed meditation state watching the sunlight and the rain. A gently dance.
I even got in the pool and had a gentle play with the water. The coolness and the warming sun made heat well enough to enjoy. Small things like that keep me moving.
Only downfall of the whole part is that I have to pack up and go. Silently I find things that tickle my eyes and bring a sweet smile to my lips. A simple taste of life.
Indeed that is necessary to keep maintaining just as much joy as the rain holds my peace, my calm.
Here I sit now, relax and enjoying a lasting cup of joe. Thinking about the need to edit some photos. And away I go.
Hmm all this because pool side rain fell.
