Say sweet dreams
A lasting impression. All etched in a stone wall.
Glass torn from tile. Colors so desperate for a voice.
Ah I hear. I see the emotions displayed.
Closing my eyes in hopes that images fade. To
distance myself from the morbid growling, churning in
my stomach and throat. Ah to drift into dreams.
Remembering how smiles formed when soft
whispers pressed from lips into my ears. Words
echoing deep inside me. Ah memories held tightly
within.
Oh hear the roaring of water. So soothing. A
calmness deep inside my head. No longer does the
fruity, floral scents assault me. No longer do the
noises bicker inside my ears.
Just softness of cotton. Warmth of layers. All
gently putting this woman into slumber.
So all that is needed now is to say, " sweet
dreams, Mary". I hope to hold tight the dreams and
look forward to seeing you sometime soon. Even if only
in a dream or prayer.
