Is there warmth anywhere
Where oh where is the warmth in this house?
Constant nagging breeze created by air circulating in
every room.
Why oh why is there no heat in here?
Right, yes bundle down under a down comforter and
three other layers of blankets.
What oh what can possibly make me sleepy enough
to drown out the chattering clatter of teeth?
A warm waterfall for a brief ten minutes, perhaps.
Oh my how I see my breath in my own bedroom.
The eerie feeling overall. How many layers can
one soul apply before sleep, dreams take hold?
Hmm. Dare I shed fleece, aloe infused socks for
any kind of waterfall? Hmm what is the weight of
both and which is more important? The momentary
heat gained from singed drying, chapped skin or
static energized layers over freckled paleness?
Such an awkward decision to make. I dare not
make alone.
Oh how sleep creases over eyes. Creating the haze
that soon follows the yawns and holds tight to the
sighs.
Yes rubbing eyes to stay open just a few minutes
more. Holding onto a tiny whisper of hope.
Is there warmth anywhere?
Where? Point to direction because a total of seven
layers still isn't enough.
A sigh and scream in frustration all trickles more
yawns as I bore myself right into sleep.
Good night. I hope you stay warm with your bedroom
window cracked ever so slight. Please I pray, no
snoring allowed. Just peaceful whimpers and lots of
murmurs.
Did you hear what I said as one last look of room
swallowed into a darkness? Yes. Here, cuddling into
pillows and burrowing under covers. I giggled and
said my prayer, in hopes for more surprises to
entertain my spirit.
Just say, now, Good night, Mary. See you soon my
dear friend.
Hmm. Nodding softly. Yes good night dear friend,
wherever you may be.
