Passing time
Sitting here awaiting the time when I must fall down
to the sidewalk. Hearing of footsteps creasing my
nighttime stance. Ah how lonely it all sounds and yet
I am surrounded by thousands.
Softly I hold onto a dream. Closing my eyes into
the cooling darkened sky. Hoping that the last of
the grittiness of the workday has faded.
Perhaps a hope of seeing more friends today?
Blues, reds and yellows all came forth in search of
an item. Completed was their mission. An endless
day of warmth I hope, dearly for them. Smiles
and comedy to stay afloat nearby.
Ah a sigh escapes and I wait for time to pass. To
finally be able to say the goodbyes to chaotic reign.
Ah looking forward to the warming rainfall. All that
soaks out the pores and down the drain. Yes a free
moment to wallow in. Only for a few minutes though.
So my dear friend I hope denim and cotton braced
your form and brushed against the sunlight. That
the eyes gleamed with enjoyment at every turn. No
containment in boxes nor rings. Just freedom. Wind
whipping strands and making silliness form inside
your thoughts.
Ah yes excitement is never controlled when my
baby blues light up. Awaiting my moment to feel
the sunlight. Even if it is for a brief ten minutes or
so.
So every step from this moment on tonight will be
a countdown. One minute after another for a day off.
Yes. My date with Jehovah. La. Say what you want.
Hmm. So my dearest friend, a possible smile since
today I did not see you? Perhaps? I hope not a big
request. Say you will, say you want to. Ah. To wait
and see. Patience is the way to go, I know.
Hmm. I will see. Yes!
