Blocked by a prayer
Tokens open the mind. Memories
break open the heart. Emotions slide over
the glazed eyes.
Oh to not look back, to turn forward.
A waking moment. A bittersweet hello.
Patience of those lost or gone. Not desserted
just so irritated. Not sure how to press
near, not sure what is allowed so must
forget, must lose all thoughts.
Nights walking in a haze. Best keep
praying for a hope, for wisdom. Keep
leaping, grasping for accurate knowledge.
Know nothing else compares. Nothing
can keep the mind on a level of sanity.
Distance I push to exit those who beckon,
those who interrogate.
Oh how does one continue to be calm
when everything inside is in an uproar?
dance. Dance. DANCE.
My mind screams the songs to
drive away angry words. Cynical, cruel
and ignorant speech drops at my feet.
All blocked by a prayer.
Thank you Jehovah for saving me
once more.
