Pinch me

Oh pinch me. Pinch me please. The reality of
laughter is just rolling down. Dripping in hints of sarcasm
and pure joy.

No one sense caused this outbreak but all and then
one. So here is to just a moment of paused silence
before the quake begins once more. Shh don't stay quiet
for long, one might take you for such seriousness.

Still tiny echoes sit in a rocking chair or a teeter
totter just waiting for that moment to soar, jump, press
higher. Oh will you be there on the other end laughter,
enjoying the carefree memories with me?

Pinch me. Pinch me please as the night begins to
cool down the punches of yawns. Holding at bay the
shedding and translation of what may come.

So silly the sound is, the clatter of shoes against
hardwood floors. So quietly a whisper is said. Are you
listening?

Now relaxing inside silk and cotton. Hoping the
eyes stay open long enough to complete this poem.
Ah ha not so much but still a hope.

So here is to you dear friend, I pray the night
folds over you and the chill causes you to gather
warmth where you can. Please enjoy what you have
and pass a word or two for some friends, loved ones.

Here I giggle one last time before the eyes roll
closed and the soul curls. Indeed the night I fall asleep
into the distant dream and pray in hushed undertones
for protection and love.

       What about you dear one?
