The dance I carry

Baby I loved. Baby I cared.
One day at a time.

Carry me tight. Carry me high.
Distance is hateful.

     Crawling forward. Running to
be near. Hold sights clear.

Oh I lost. I cried buckets full
yet only one tear fell. My nose,
my eyed dried, froze before emotion
had a chance to escape.

Hoping for calls from hints but
reading not a word. Closed my
eyes to all displayed. Ignorant to
all the beckoning.

Cater to my joy. Respect my
foolish lessons and no sarcasm
spat over misunderstood words,
syllables.

Hold tight my love of you.
My open hand, my mind entranced
with all taught.

Baby believe in us, just once.
Oh how the words slip. The emotions
cry. The dance I carry inside of me.

    Breaking and waiting for a
         knock, a story strung.
