Advice on a photo
I would be odd if I mentioned that in a picture, the wholeness of the photograph, is pretty. Still though if you are going to do flowers or nature, pick something that you can sharpen. For once the blow up of details, it all breaks down to haze or fuzzy lines. There is nothing in real focus. So if that is your idea of nature then maybe find the one area of nature you enjoy the most and tone that aspect up before you branch into another.
And frankly it does not matter what type of device you use nor the lens. If you understand the aspects of nature you love, then the focus will be on that. And the lens and devices you use will end up enhancing the beauty or crispness of something that is so natural.
So sure I sound as though critiquing you, by far no. Just a person who notes that nothing really stands out in the photos. Just a picture. That is where I do not get it. The magnitude of skills that are projected in other artwork, clearly shows the attention to detail. So I am hoping the next piece that is given is sharper in edges, fuzz or color. Put your time into one of these areas and then expand.
That is what I would like to see as an artsy friend. Knowing that capacity in the intelligence that lays deep within, I would only hope that my words are mere suggestions to help growth to be seen. Yet in many cases I do seem as though I am bossy. I just only want the best for all my friends and family.
And as demanding and encouraging as I am, I would only hope that nothing I say grates on any one person's nerve. Yet there is never a way to know unless someone is vocal. Meaning well and giving advice, in a loving way, I only want to expand the variety that photographs are.
So currently I have seen daisies, roses, animals galore, food and wooden textures. My hope is to see another variety that has something that speaks you in volumes but did not require too many gadgets and processes to achieve. Sometimes a raw piece is the best.
But then again, what do I know? I just hope the next view of a flower is maybe the tip of the petal, stamen in sharp focus or maybe it is the foreground that draws you in. And animals, sure the wholeness of the exotic seen in a zoo is dandy but an up close of a cat's eye is way more fetching.
What I am saying is don't just take a photo to take a frame. Make it worthwhile. I have seen so much texture and creativity from your work that I hope somewhere else you find a depth within you that is screaming in a photograph.
I will not know it, but you will. And the emotion will shine in your picture.
Perhaps I am a bother in saying so. In another way I am hoping there is growth and not hesitation. I can only hope that. And maybe, somewhere, someone is listening and growing from this whole talk. Shrugs, who knows.
I hope you grow. Find your focus. Find your depth and soar. But for certain, make sure you smile. Even if it is to growl. Still smile because I want you to grow.
