A lesson Jehovah teaches
Words break free. Fight. Fight. For
their right to speak in the silence held
so tightly.
Oh how the eyes speak volumes behind
a deep slate fog. One word echoes deep
within yet to say it would give in to all. To
allow to be rolled over by the power men
and women proclaim.
Higher and higher I advert my eyes. The
spirit draws a prayer to Jehovah, to ask
for strength to keep stepping forward when
running away seems to be right.
Oh hold me higher. Press my heart
closed and my temper bleed to calm. To
empty the hurt.
Constantly the shivers quake down my soul.
So patient and ever understanding yet
Jehovah keeps me quiet.
A lesson.
Stand close if you love. Give heartfelt hugs
if you hear. Smile if I allow tears to spill.
For I know it is okay to feel emotion but
those who bully, dominate, control cannot,
must not know the pain.
They have yet.
So I smile. Act a play but those who
know: see all. Jehovah holds me steady
when shaking, trembling arrives.
To understand.
I am strong because Jehovah made
me this way.
Jehovah is all knowing,
all seeing. He knows.
