A grand delight

I hear words tickling my thoughts.
Asking, begging to be written.

Long ago a story emerged and
still many grasp tightly to it.

    My eyes close and breathe
inward the cold, morning light. Warmly
I squeeze my waist, calmly
exhaling all my troubles. Leaving
the old and renewing self.

    Softly the smile curves
over lips. Tiny giggles erupt inside.
Happiness overflows deep within
spirit.

    Come, breathe in my joy.
Feel my sound of relief echoing in
the early frost.

I fondly wave a hello in
your absence. Just know that
excitement, love exists between families.

Watch as I lightly step to the
music of leaves clattering to ground, crunching
under soles. See my eyes sparkle
their clear slate gray. Such delight in
knowing one day I will be a
sister, wholeheartedly, again.

     A grand treasure amongst all.
