Mind play
One by one the lights flicker off. The eyes begin
to droop and the mind closes down. Hmm. A good
night to us all.
Seated here unable to move. Clearly the
eyes, mind demand a motion. Still the legs stay put.
Ah now a breeze brushes against my right cheek.
Holding tightly upon some coppery strands. Tickling
my eyes and my upturned, button nose.
Hmm. Lifting my chin I caress the remaining
wind with my entire face. Holding onto a huge grin.
Softly I remind myself that my bed isn't far away.
Must gain a charge and make haste to fly down
the hallway. Crashing upon the blue, purple and white
birdhouses. Hmm. Then underneath a satiny
coverlet.
Hmm but first the change of attire. A smile
sits high upon my cheekbones. Not moving. Wider
and wider I open until the expansion is hurting.
Ah indeed a bit of joy falls here inside my spirit.
Now I lay my head down upon embroidered
satin pillows. My eyes flutter from open to close
and back again.
Come laugh with me as I strive so hard to keep
awake. One inhale before the soul is completely
relaxed. As I exhale I finally allow my mind to
enter a whirlwind of memories and dreams.
Before I know it, it is morning and a new routine
unfolds. Hiding here inside my cocoon, waiting and
hoping.
So dearest friend, rest and hydrate. Perhaps the
necessity of cooling air or water allows the mind
to agree upon one simple realization: beauty is
everywhere.
Smile and enjoy.
