Nature, I am home

   Steel crosses over steel. Braided
thick. Intertwining the softest gold to
nothing, invisible.

Here is the golden air strengthened
by the graying sky. Breathe. Inhale.
Slowly exhale.

   Soft, tiny whispers wonder through
the wind. Hearts pound in time. Holding
tightly on a hope.

The eyes close. A mist caresses the
red tresses. Tears moisten a pale canvas.
A dream I hold.

A smile echoes throughout my soul
as I hold my memories in song. Singing,
dancing in the rain in happiness.
Oh do you see the silliness yet joy
I radiate?

A laugh I let escape as I open
my eyes and the scent of fallen, crisp
leaves invade my senses.

   Oh I am home.
