The softest of goodbyes

The one day in your life where you have to say goodbye. It's hard but you do it anyway.

In a soft silent whimper you at last free yourself from the anguish that has held you deeply.

That lasting of hope you finally have to admit to yourself it's not hopeless just not a want anymore.

Walking away you see your spine grow taller and your steps stride longer. As though in the release of stress and the means of escape.

Truly a silent cry echoes down your face as sniffles find a trail upon pale lips. Still the sigh that vibrates to your core, just begs for a miracle.

Then you just back away and pray that strength will catch you when you need it the most.

Struggling in the wake of lively people you walk away. Realizing only you and Jehovah know what is good for you.

Not sustaining in settling. Not wanting to be second, third or anything about less than primary.

The walk becomes a run. The smile becomes tears but it was for the good of all. And I am willing to walk away to grow.
